Michel Banda Dieguez was born and lived in Havana Cuba until September 2005, when he emigrated to the United States. In Cuba, Michel studied at the Escuela de Dibujo Tecnico, Havana, Cuba from 1993 to 1997, at the I.P.U.E.C. Ernesto Dimas, Havana, Cuba from 1996 to 1999, and at the San Alejandro Visual Arts School from 2004 to 2005.
Upon arrival to the U.S., Michel spent the first three years living in New York, first Manhattan then Brooklyn, and supporting his career as an independent artist by working in restaurants, as an art handler, and selling his art on a private basis. In 2008, Michel relocated to El Cerrito, California where his wife's family were based. He now works exclusively as an independent artist, supporting himself through private sales.
